Intro
There was a man named John Brennan and a woman whose maiden name was Margaret Callaghan that played a role in my McCabe family research. I am not entirely sure if John and Margaret were from the Dunleer area of Co. Louth. I do know they did live in that area for some period of time. John and Margaret (nee Callaghan) Brennan's daughter, Mary Anne, married Pat McCabe, son of Pat and Mary (nee Kelly) McCabe, grandson of Henry and Rose (nee Byrne) McCabe, with Rose and Henry being great, great aunt and uncle to me.

Marriage
I have not found any marriage record for John and Margaret (nee Callaghan) Brennan. I have assumed they were married. With all the traveling they did, it seems they could have been married in any of several counties within Ireland.

Offspring

Irish Census Records
John and Margaret Brennan are listed in the 1901 Irish census, in the townland of Donabate, in Co. Dublin. After first finding John and Margaret Brennan and family in the 1911 Irish census, in Co. Louth, I did a search of the 1901 Irish census, looking for individuals named Nicholas Brennan, who were 14 year old. Considering there were only two such Nicholas Brennans, it was easy selecting the Brennan family living in Donabate in the 1901 census. Louth, includes John and Margaret's daughter Mary. I am quite sure this is the Brennan family that I was searching for, as a Mary Brennan, daughter of a Mr. John Brennan, was living in the townland of Listulk, in 1914, when she married Patrick McCabe, a grandson of Henry and Rose (nee Byrne) McCabe, through Henry and Rose's son Pat McCabe, who married Mary Kelly. I have NOT found any info about the death of John Brennan. I have obtained a copy of the civil registration death register entry for a Margaret Brennan, the woman I believe was John's wife.
