Intro
There was a couple named Edward Downie and Anne (nee xxx) Downie, who were both born in Ireland, in the early half of the 19th century. At some point, both Edward and Anne made their way to the U.S. I don't know if they were married before arriving in the U.S. Edward and Anne (nee xxx) Downie lived in the state of New York for a number of years. Around the latter half of the 1840s the Edward and Anne (nee xxx) Downie family moved westward to the state of Wisconsin. Edward and Anne (nee xxx) Downie are relevant to my family research effort as they have descendants that have DNA matchs to me and other members of my extended McCabe family.
