Rose Finnegan, daughter of Patrick and Rose (nee McCabe) Finnegan, was apparently born Oct. 29, 1866, in Sreenty, Co. Monaghan, Ireland. I have obtained a copy of Rose Finnegan's civil registration birth register record. The civil registration birth register record, not filed until April 9, 1867, seems to have a wrong date for Rose's birth. There is nearly a five month difference between the information on Rose's baptism record and the information on Rose's civil registration birth register record. I have chosen to go with the information on Rose's baptism record. I believe there is more of a chance there was a delay/mix up in reporting Rose's birth information to the civil authorities, than there was a chance of baptizing a baby 5 months before her birth.
