LARRY'S JECKER FAMILY
I have traced my Jecker family roots to the Swiss town of Büsserach. The town of Büsserach is located in the Thierstein district of the Swiss canton of Solothurn. Büsserach is approximately 20 miles, mostly south, of the city of Basel. Most of the Swiss records I have obtained usually spell the name as Jecker. I'm not sure if any of the US records I have obtained ever used that spelling. Regardless of spelling, the information I have collected all pertain to the same Büsserach family.
My Jecker lineage in Büsserach goes back to at least the early 1600s. I have accessed research by another Jecker descendant, a Mr. Werner Ditzler. Mr. Ditzler's research begins with a person named Jakob Jecker. Mr. Ditzler's research has Jakob Jecker's birth about 1622. The Jakob Jecker from about 1622 was my eighth great grandfather. I am not sure where Mr. Ditzler came up with a 1622 birth date. I have not seen anything about Jakob's birth, other than the date Werner has specified. Mr. Ditzler's research also shows Jakob Jecker married a woman named Maria Schmid.
Jakob and Maria (nee Schmid) Jecker had a son named Ursus Jecker. Ursus was born March 9, 1659. The Ursus Jecker from 1659 was my seventh great grandfather. I have obtained a copy of Ursus' birth record. To view the copy of Ursus' birth record that I have obtained, click here. Ursus was living in Büsserach when he married a woman named Anna Fuchs.
Ursus and Anna (nee Fuchs) Jecker had a son named Johann Jakob Jecker. Johann Jakob was born December 25, 1685. The Johann Jakob Jecker from 1685 was my sixth great grandfather. I have obtained a copy of Johann Jakob's birth record. To view the copy of Johann Jakob's birth record that I have obtained, click here. Johann Jakob was living in Büsserach when he married a woman named Maria Saner.
Johann Jakob and Maria (nee Saner) Jecker had a son was named Joseph Jecker. Joseph Jakob was born May 31, 1711. The Joseph Jecker from 1711 was my fifth great grandfather. I have obtained a copy of Joseph's birth record. To view the copy of Joseph's birth record that I have obtained, click here. Joseph was living in Büsserach when he married a woman named Barbara Jecker, a person I believe was Joseph's fourth cousin.
Joseph and Barbara (nee Jecker) Jecker had a son was named Johann Jecker. Johann was born December 22, 1761. The Johann Jecker from 1761 was my fourth great grandfather. I have obtained a copy of Johann's birth record. To view the copy of Johann's birth record that I have obtained, click here. Johann was living in Büsserach when he married a woman named Maria Gunti.
Johann and Maria (nee Gunti) Jecker had a son was named Andreas Jecker. Andreas was born December 1, 1809. The Andreas Jecker from 1809 was my third great grandfather. I have obtained a copy of Andreas' birth record. To view the left side of the copy of Andreas' birth record that I have obtained, click on left side. To view the right side of the copy of Andreas' birth record that I have obtained, click on right side. Andreas was living in Büsserach when he married a woman named Anna Katharina Weber.
Andreas and Anna Katharina (nee Weber) Jecker's son Oswald, born August 8, 1839, was my great, great grandfather. Oswald was living in Büsserach when he married his first wife, a woman named Maria Victoria Birry.
After the death of his first wife Oswald maried for a second time. Oswald's second marriage occurred on November 21, 1870. On that day, in Büsserach, Oswald married his second wife, a woman named Agnes Hänggi.
