Intro
One of the Cookspark McCabe couples in the late 1700s and early 1800s was the couple Luke McCabe and wife Bridget (nee McGahan) McCabe. Bridget's name is sometimes listed as Gahan and sometimes listed as McGahan. I have obtained nine records related to Luke and Bridget (nee McGahan) McCabe. I obtained all nine records from the rootsireland database.

Marriage
The first Luke and Bridget record I found was their mariage record. Luke McCabe and Bridget McGahan were married on October 2, 1798. From information on the marriage record, the marriage must have taken place in St. Brigid's Catholic church, in Dunleer, Co. Louth. To view a copy of the Luke McCabe and Bridget McGahan marriage record I have obtained, click
here. Unfortunately, the marriage record does not include an address.

Offspring
I have obtained eight baptism records for children of Luke and Bridget. The baptism record for Luke and Bridget's first child Patt has an address of Pooks Hole. I have come to understand Pooks Hole is an older reference to the townland currently known as Puckstown, a townland in Mosstown parish, within Co. Louth. All of the baptism records for Luke and Bridget's other children show Cookspark, a townland in Mosstown parish, within Co. Louth, as the address.

I have listed the names of the eight children in the table below. To view any of the individual records, click on the child's name. Note that the mother's last name is list as McGahan on some records, and as Gahan on others. I think of Bridget as McGahan.

Tithe Records
I have found an additional reference to Luke McCabe, in Mosstown parish, in the Tithe Applotment Books, of 1823 - 1837. There is an entry for Luke McCabe in the townland of Cookspark. Cookspark is a townland in Mosstown parish. There is a notation towards the bottom right corner of the Cookspark record that is dated Oct. 25, 1834. Apparently, the 1834 date applies to all of Mosstown parish. So, even though Luke and Bridget McCabe's last child was baptized in the year 1819, it would seem Luke was still living in Mosstown parish during the year 1834. To view a copy of the Cookspark record, click on this Cookspark 1834 Tithe Applotment link. Luke McCabe's entry is line number 196. You may need to click the '+' and/or '-' sign several times to make the page more readable.
