Intro
Peter McCabe, son of Peter and Alley/Alice (nee Whearty) McCabe, and Mary Halligan, daughter of Patrick and Mary (nee xxx) Halligan, were most likely married somewhere in the U.S. state of New York. I believe Peter and Mary were married in New York as their first child is listed in U.S. Federal Census records as being born in New York. Peter and Mary (nee Halligan) McCabe are relevant to my family research effort as they have several Wisconsin, USA, McCabe, Downie, and Venzke families with, according to Ancestry.com, autosomal DNA connections to me.

McCabe Family Death Info
There was a Peter McCabe who died May 31, 1890, in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. That Peter McCabe was buried in Saint Mary's Visitation Cemetery, located in Elm Grove, Waukesha County, Wisconsin. I have obtained a copy of that Peter McCabe's obituary, which appeared in The Evening Journal, of Waukesha, Wisconsin, dated Monday, June 2, 1890. I am not 100% certain this obituary is for the Waukesha County Peter McCabe I have been researching. The Waukesha County Peter McCabe I have been researching was always associated with the town of New Berlin. The Peter McCabe obituary I have obtained states Peter McCabe died at his home in Brookfield, WI, not New Berlin, WI. Perhaps Peter sold his farm in New Berlin and moved to Brookfield before he died. Perhaps I need to do some more research. Anyway, to view a copy of the Peter McCabe obituary I have obtained, click here.

Mary (nee Halligan) McCabe, widow of Peter McCabe, may have died just a couple of weeks after Peter. I have copied a funeral notice from the June 18, 1890 edition of The Daily Freeman and Republican, of Waukesha, WI. The funeral notice references the name "Mrs. McCabe". It says Mrs. McCabe was from Elm Grove, the name of the town where Peter McCabe was buried, but, as far as I know, not the town where he lived. But, the article does say Mrs. McCabe's husband had just passed away a few weeks earlier, which does match the death of the aforementioned Peter McCabe. The article also mentions that Mrs. McCabe leaves a married daughter living in Milwaukee. Considering "my" Peter and Mary (nee Halligan) McCabe had 10 children, I don't believe their married daughter in Milwaukee would have been the only child still alive in June of 1890. Anyway, to view a copy of the Mrs. McCabe funeral notice I have obtained, click here.
