Immigration
Mary Ann Duffy, daughter of Patrick and Catherine "Kate" (nee Ward) Duffy, left her homeland in Ireland and immigrated to the United States. Mary Ann traveled to the U.S. on the ship S. S. Transylvania, in May of 1928. The particular voyage of the S. S. Transylvania Mary Ann traveled on set sail from Londonderry, Ireland, May 12, 1928, arriving at the port of New York, May 20, 1928. US Citizenship
Mary Ann Duffy, daughter of Patrick and Catherine "Kate" (nee Ward) Duffy, apparently took her first step towards American citizenship on March 7, 1929 when she filed her Declaration Of Intention with the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York, New York. I have NOT found a copy of Mary Ann's Declaration. Her Declaration info listed here is from her Petition. Mary Ann followed up on her U.S. citizenship process when, on December 20, 1933, Mary Ann filed her Petition For Naturalization with the District Court for the Southern District of New York, New York. I assume Mary Ann was granted her U.S. citizenship though I have NOT been able to find her actual Oath Of Allegiance and Court Order.
