Intro
There were people with a last name of Flanagan in the Dunleer area of Co. Louth. I became interested in the name Flanagan as a result of the information on the 1915 Ship's Passenger List for my Maguire/McGuire and Halligan relatives. Listed on the same 1915 Ship's Passenger List with Christopher and Nicholas Maguire, and Patrick Halligan, is a person named Thomas Flanagan. Thomas Flanagan was not only on the same ship as the mentioned Maguire/McGuires and Halligan, but he is listed on the line immediately above those three Maguire/McGuire and Halligan individuals. That fact may be a coincidence, or it may not be.

Some research on the Thomas Flanagan from the 1915 Ship's Passenger List resulted in information indicating a man named Michael Flanagan married a woman named Mary Reilly.

Erected to the memory of Thomas Ebbitt Knockanking died 18 June 1888. His wife Mary died 26 Oct 1895 and their children Elizabeth, John, Jane and Bridget who died young. Also Anne who died 6 Jan 1896 and Richard who died 23 March 1928 of Nebraska U.S.A. Their daughter Catherine Flanagan who died 9 May 1935. And her husband Peter who died 30 Sep 1935. Her son Denis who died 24 July 1969. Her daughter Catherine died 11 April 1973. Her sons Thomas C. died in U.S.A. Oct 10 1975, Richard died April 27 1978, her daughter Anne died Feb 4 1979.
