Intro
There was a couple named Joseph and Bridget (nee Trainor) Garvey that lived, at least at one point, in the small Irish townland of Lisnafeddaly, in the Co. Monaghan civil parish of Magheross, in the early to mid 1800s. Lisnafeddaly is the same townland where my great, great grandparents, Peter and Catherine (nee Trainor) Kernan were from. Lisnafeddaly is near the Co. Monaghan town of Carrickmacross. The Joseph and Bridget (nee Trainor) Garvey family of Lisnafeddaly may be relevant to my family research effort, as Joseph and Bridget (nee Trainor) Garvey were from the same little townland as Hugh and Anne (nee Markey) Garvey, keeping in mind, Hugh and Anne (nee Markey) Garvey were my great uncle John Kernan's in-laws. Also because Joseph Garvey's wife's maiden name was Trainor, the same name as my great, great grandmother, Catherine (nee Trainor) Kernan.
Note, I try to consistently use the spelling T-r-a-i-n-o-r. I have seen various records using other spellings including Treanor, Traynor and others. Also, considering the multitude of spellings available, including those that begin with McA..., McE... and McI..., I am trying to consistantly use the spelling M-c-E-n-e-a-n-y.
Marriage
Joseph Garvey, son of Peter and Bridget (nee Byrnes) Garvey, and Bridget Trainor, daughter of John and Mary (nee McEneany) Trainor, were married July 15, 1858, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, in Carrickmacross, Co.
