Intro
I have Trainor ancestors from Co. Monaghan, Ireland. I have traced my direct Trainor ancestors to the small townland of Drumgurra, near the town of Carrickmacross. I have traced my direct Trainor family line back to my great, great, great grandparents, a couple named John Trainor and his wife Mary (nee Campbell) Trainor. Well, there were several other Trainor families living in the same, small townland. One of those other Trainor families was the family of John and Mary (nee McEneany) Trainor. Note, I try to consistently use the spelling T-r-a-i-n-o-r. I have seen various records using other spellings including Treanor, Traynor and others. Also, considering the multitude of spellings available, including those that begin with McA..., McE... and McI..., I am trying to consistantly use the spelling M-c-E-n-e-a-n-y.
