Birth/Baptism
I have obtained a copy of the baptism record for a Dennis Murphy, who was a son of Dennis and Mary (nee Vale/Veal/Veale) Murphy, of Ballyhooly, Co. Cork, Ireland. I believe this Dennis Murphy was one of my great uncles, though I have no direct information, at this time, tying the Dennis Murphy listed in the Dennis and Mary Murphy 1870 and 1880 US Philadelphia census records, to the Dennis and Mary (nee Vale/Veal/Veale) Murphy of Ballyhooly, Co. Dennis' death is recorded on page 44 of the 1886 Death Register for the city of Philadelphia, PA. I have obtained a copy of the Dennis J. Murphy Philadelphia death register record. Murphy's death appeared in both The North American newspaper and The Philadelphia Press newspaper. I have obtained a copy of Dennis' death notice from both newspapers. The Philadelphia Press notice contains the known Dennis and Mary (nee Vale/Veal/Veale) Murphy address 225 North Front Street. Unfortunately, neither death notice provides any additional, usefull, genealogical information. Dennis J. Murphy, son of Dennis and Mary (nee Vale/Veal/Veale) Murphy, was buried in New Cathedral Cemetery on Monday, January 25, 1886.
