Francis Anthony Murphy, son of Michael J. and Mary (nee O'Brien) Murphy, was born November 19, 1898, in Philadelphia, PA. In the 1900 census Francis is listed with his parents. I don't know why, but none of the Michael J. and Mary (nee O'Brien) Murphy family, including Francis, appear in the 1910 U.S. Federal census records for Philadelphia, PA. Francis is listed, living in the household of his aunt Minnie (nee Murphy) Lauer, in the 1920 census. I don't know exaxtly when or why Francis went to live with his aunt Minnie, but he was there in 1918 when he registered for the U.S. WWI military draft.

Draft Registration
In September of 1918, Francis A. Murphy registered for the World War I draft. At that time, Francis was living in the home of his aunt, Minnie (nee Murphy) Lauer, at 315 Berks St., in Philadelphia, PA. Francis' World War I draft registration card shows his birthday as November 19, 1898.

Marriage
Francis A. Murphy, son of Michael J. Murphy and Mary (nee O'Brien) Murphy, married a woman named Rose Hudicek.
