Birth
Florence Catherine O'Keefe, daughter of my great uncle William and his wife, Margaret (nee Louge) O'Keefe, was born October 22, 1893, according to her baptism record. To view a copy of the Florence O'Keefe baptism record I have obtained, click here.

Divorce?
The marriage between Florence's parents did not last very long. William O'Keefe, Florence's father, is listed with his mother, Johanna O'Keefe, in the 1900 U.S. Federal Census for Philadelphia, PA. William's marital status is listed as "D". I assume that means William and Margaret were divorced. I have not tried researching any Philadelphia divorce records.

Family Deaths
Just 2 months, and a few days, after Florence turned 7 years old, on December 26, 1900, her father William O'Keefe died. I don't know if Florence continued living with her grandmother, Johanna O'Keefe, after the death of her father. I do know that on November 2, 1909 Florence's grandmother Johanna O'Keefe died, just a few days after Florence's 16th birthday.

I believe Florence was still living in my great grandparents' household, in 1913, when she married a man named Henry Harris.
