The information presented here was obtained from Cathedral Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA. The information provided by the cemetery shows the lot owner to be Patrick Mullen. I'm certain Patrick Mullen was Josephine (nee Curtain) Keefe/O'Keefe's brother in law. The death notice for Josephine (nee Curtain) Keefe/O'Keefe, copied from The Philadelphia Record, dated Saturday, August 25, 1888, states that Josephine was to be buried from the home of her sister at 619 Tamarind St. A copy of an 1887 Philadelphia, PA city directory shows a Patrick Mullen living at 619 Tamarind St. Copies of the 1870 and 1880 Philadelphia, PA Federal census shows a couple named Patrick and Margaret Mullen. They were living near Josephine Keefe/O'Keefe each of those census years. I intend, if possible, to obtain copies of the marriage records for Thomas O'Keefe and his wife Josephine and for Patrick Mullen and his wife Margaret. I expect those two records to confirm my suspicions that Josephine O'Keefe and Margaret Mullen were sisters. Or, they were at least two women whose maiden names were the same.
