The 1860 Philadelphia, PA census shows the John O'Keefe I believe to be my great, great grandfather, living in the same house as a Michael O'Keefe. Does this mean my great, great grandfather is related to Michael and Michael senior? I don't know. I do believe the 1860 census record is for a Callowhill address. I believe this because my great grandfather's birth record has a Callowhill address. My great grandfather was born in March of 1861, just nine months after the 1860 census. Also, the 1859 Philadelphia City Directory, cited on my main Keefe/O'Keef page, shows two people named Michael living at the #5 Callowhill address.
The 1860 census has Michael O'Keefe listed as 30 years old, putting his birth somewhere around 1830. The 1860 census has John O'Keefe listed as 26 years old, putting his birth somewhere around 1834.The death record for old Michael O'Keefe has his age listed as 72. If accurate, that would put his birth somewhere around 1812. Could John and the younger Michael both be sons of the older Michael? I'm sure it is possible. I just don't know if it is factual.

Michael, his wife Mary and their assumed daughter, Mary (nee Keefe/O/Keefe) Moser, are buried together in SecY, Blk10, Lot18, Sublot3, in New Cathderal Cemetery, in Philadelphia, PA. To view the cemetery information I have obtained for Michael, wife Mary and Daughter Mary, click here. Mary (nee Keefe/O'Keefe) Moser was buried in New Cathedral Cemetery November 8, 1885, according to her death certificate. The information I received from New Cathdral Cemetery says Mary Moser was buried December 6, 1885. I am not sure why there is such a large discrepancy in the burial date info between Mary's death record and the cemetery record.
