Mary Ann Maynard Chiles June 29, 1920 - October 30, 2018 LA MESA Mary Ann Maynard Chiles
was born on June 29, 1920, in Elmira, New York. She had two younger brothers, Vincent "Bo"
and Robert. Her father was in the Navy. Mary graduated 1939 from Hoover High School. She
married Charles H. Chiles in 1940. They had four children: Charles R. (Bob), Debra, Patrick and
Denise. She took up painting and was a prolific artist. She enjoyed travel and went to Ireland
where her Mom had been born. Her husband of 54 years died in 1994, and she moved to the
Pacific Regent in 1997 where she lived until 2018. She moved to an apartment at the Montera
in La Mesa in July where she stayed until her death. She is survived by her 4 children, 10
grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend 9 o'clock,
Sunday, November 25th, Mass at Our Mother of Confidence Church. A Memorial Service will
be held Monday, November 26, 2018 at Fort Rosecrans Cemetery at 10:30 AM.
