Mary McCabe, daughter of John and Margaret (nee Murphy) McCabe, was born prior to the Catholic Irish civil registration laws taking effect. As such, there is no civil registration birth record for Mary McCabe. However, I have obtained a copy of Mary McCabe's baptism register record. Mary McCabe was baptized Oct. 9, 1858, in St. Bridget's Catholic church, in Dunleer, Co. Louth, Ireland. To view a copy of the Mary McCabe baptism register record I have obtained, click here.

Mary appears to have lived on the family farm in Knockaleva, in Co. Louth, with her parents and siblings, well in to her fourties. At some point after that, Mary moved, along with her mother, to the John and Anne (nee McCabe) Halligan family farm.

Mary was listed with her mother and several of her siblings in the 1901 Irish census. Mary was listed in her sister Anne (nee McCabe) Halligan's houseold in the 1911 Irish Census.
