Marriage
Nicholas McCabe, son of John and Margaret (nee Murphy) McCabe, and Mary/Molly O'Connor, daughter of Thomas and Ann (nee xxx) O'Connor, were married October 23, 1888, in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Nicholas called North Platte home for the remainder of his career. He built up his practice as well as several other businesses. At one point he owned two pharmacies, a bar, and a hotel. He also owned 2,000 acres of land in the North Platte area. Dr. Nicholas also entered into politics. He was elected as mayor of North Platte for three consecutive terms, starting with the election of 1906.

Dr. Nicholas McCabe, husband of Mary/Molly (nee O'Connor) McCabe, died in North Platte, NE on Aug. 8, 1922. He was buried in the North Platte Cemetery on Aug. 11, 1922. Mrs. Mary/Molly (nee O'Connor) McCabe, widow of Dr. Nicolas McCabe, died in North Platte, NE on Dec. 9, 1949. She was buried in the North Platte Cemetery on Dec. 12, 1949.
