Simon McNally and my great aunt Mary Kernan, daughter of Peter and Catherine (nee Trainor) Kernan, were married, in St. Joseph's Catholic church, in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, Ireland, on May 23, 1895. I have obtained a copy of the civil registration marriage register record for the Simon McNally and Mary Kernan marriage. Offspring
Simon and Mary (nee Kernan) McNally had eight children I am aware of. I have listed the names of seven of those children in the table below. The one child listed as Baby McNally is a son that was born prematurely. James and Mary's premature baby only lived three hours. My great uncle, Simon McNally, husband of my great aunt Mary (nee Kernan) McNally died, in Bocks Middle, Co. Monaghan, Ire., on February 7, 1907. Simon McNally's civil registration death register entry states Simon died Feb. 7, 1907, however, I have obtained a copy of a record from the Calendars of Wills and Administrations, 1858 - 1922. I obtained the Wills and Administrations record from The National Archives of Ireland. To view a copy of the Simon McNally Wills and Administrations record I have obtained, click here. The Wills and Administrations record indicates Simon McNally died, in the townland of Bocks Middle, in Co. Monaghan, on Feb. 11, 1907. I am not overly concerned about the 4 day difference between Simon's death record and his will record, but wanted to point out the difference. Simon's will record shows that Simon's heir was a woman named Mary Ward.
A Second Marriage
After the death of her first husband, Mary (nee Kernan) McNally married a man named Philip Ward.
