Murphy Family U.S. Federal Census

I have included a copy of a U.S. Federal census record for a couple named John and Catherine Murphy, who were living in the town of Milo, in Yates County, NY, during the 1850 U.S. Federal census. I don't have any documentation that definitively confirms this 1850 NY census is for "my" John and Catherine (nee Plunkett) Murphy family of Waseca County, MN. However, the subsequent 1857 Minnesota Territorial census does show a close match between the names and dates of birth of the children of the John and Catherine Murphy listed in the 1850 Yates County, NY census record, with the names and dates of birth of the first two children of the John and Catherine Murphy listed in the 1857 Waseca County Minnesota Territorial census record. Plus, the 1860 U.S. Federal census for Waseca County, MN shows four of the other John and Catherine Murphy children listed as having been born in New York, not Minnesota.

Murphy Family Death Info

Catherine (nee Plunkett) Murphy, widow of John Murphy, died August 20, 1910, in Seattle, Washington.
