The first notice of old David's death was in the papers on Tuesday, September 28th, 1875, the day after old David died. The first notice made mention of the fact that he had died on September 27th and that notice of his funeral would be given. The first notice clearly has his name as David Keff. The funeral notice, which appeared in the papers on Wednesday, the 29th, has his name listed as Daniel Keffe. I don't know what accounts for the difference other than human error. The death register shows his name as David O'Keefe. In spite of the differences in the name I am sure all three records are for the person I refer to as old David Keefe/O'Keefe.

Note that the funeral mentioned in the Wednesday notice states that old David's funeral was to be held at the home of his son-in-law, Matthew Sullivan, at 236 Poplar St. The 236 Poplar Street address is a known address for Matthew and Mary (nee Keefe/O'Keefe) Sullivan, Mary being a known daughter of old David and old Margaret (nee xxx) Keefe/O'Keefe.
