Clarence J. McCabe and Andree Marie Louise Charmoille were married in the Catholic church in the town of Beaune, France, July 11, 1923. Upon their return to the U.S., Clarence and Andree settled in Denver, Colorado. Clarence went to work for the Rocky Mountain News. While in Denver, Andree gave birth to the couple's first child, a daughter named Marie Louise. Clarence and Andree then returned to France, where Clarence worked for the New York Herald newspaper. It was while living in France that Clarence and Andree's additional two children were born.

After living in France for several years Clarence and Andrae moved back to the US, living in Washington, D.C. and later in Arlington, Virginia. Clarence worked for the National Catholic Welfare Confedrence news service, in Washington, D.C. Clarence went to work for the N.C.W.C. in 1928. He worked there until his death in 1948.

Clarence was living in Arlington, VA when he suffered a heart attack. He died on Sunday, August 1, 1948, in Arlington, VA. His remains were returned to North Platte and buried Wednesday, August 4, 1948, in the family lot in the North Platte cemetery.

I have also obtained a copy of an article from the Telegraph - Bulletin newspaper of North Platte, dated Monday, August 2, 1948, that told of Clarence McCabe's death. The article incorrectly states Clarence died at Georgetown Hospital, in Washington, D.C., rather than Arlington Hosptial, in Arlington, VA. Other than that detail, I believe the article is accurate.
